Shaping the visitor experience
at Hammershus

At Brohuset, the visitor center for Northern Europe’s largest medieval castle ruin, I worked with content, branded souvenirs, and the visual appearance. My role was to give thousands of guests a clear, welcoming, and consistent experience each year.

Producer and creator

As daily producer at Brohuset, I created content, designed souvenirs, and worked with the overall branding of the visitor center. My goal was to connect the history of Hammershus with modern design so visitors felt both inspired and welcomed when they arrived.

Hammershus is Northern Europe’s largest medieval castle ruin and one of Denmark’s most visited attractions. Every year hundreds of thousands of people travel to Bornholm to see the castle, its dramatic setting on the cliffs, and its important place in Danish history.

Brohuset is the new visitor center that welcomes these guests and prepares them for the experience. My task was to make sure the visual identity, souvenirs, and content matched the scale of Hammershus and the high quality of the architecture. I wanted everything to feel stylish and unique, but still easy to understand and accessible for families, tourists, and history lovers.

The design had to respect the medieval ruins and at the same time fit with the modern architecture of the center — creating one complete experience.
